Primary job title: Dutch Interpreter (Remote)

About The Opportunity

A provider operating in the telehealth and remote language-services sector, delivering live interpretation and multilingual communication support for healthcare, legal, and corporate customers across the Netherlands and EU. We support remote-first workflows that require secure, high-quality oral interpretation via phone and video platforms.

Role & Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate, neutral Dutch-to-English and English-to-Dutch interpretation (consecutive and simultaneous) for remote sessions via phone and video platforms.
• Provide interpretation for clinical, legal, social services, and corporate consultations while maintaining strict confidentiality and professional neutrality.
• Prepare for assignments by reviewing terminology, client briefs, and specialist vocabulary; ensure readiness for technical or sector-specific content.
• Maintain detailed, secure session records where required and escalate any communication risks or cultural/clinical concerns to supervisors.
• Operate remote-interpretation tools (VRI platforms, telephony apps, scheduling systems), troubleshoot basic connectivity issues, and follow platform best practices.
• Adhere to GDPR and client-specific privacy protocols; participate in training, quality reviews, and occasional shift-based scheduling across time zones.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Native-level Dutch (spoken) and professional-level English—excellent listening and spoken expression in both languages.
• Proven experience as a professional interpreter (remote or on-site), with demonstrated consecutive and simultaneous interpreting skills.
• Familiarity with healthcare/legal terminology or prior assignment experience in clinical, social services, or legal settings.
• Strong understanding of GDPR and confidentiality requirements; ability to handle sensitive information securely.
• Reliable high-speed internet, dedicated quiet workspace, quality headset/microphone, and ability to use VRI and teleconferencing tools.
  
  

Preferred

• Formal interpreter certification or accreditation, or equivalent professional experience in the Netherlands/EU market.
• Experience with remote interpreting platforms, scheduling/booking tools, and basic IT troubleshooting.
