Remotehey

This role involves re-editing an 8-minute segment of a documentary focused on rural Japan. The primary objective is to creatively remove or obscure a participant who no longer wishes to appear in the final cut. The editor will work with the provided iMovie project files and additional footage to ensure a seamless narrative, even if the segment needs to be shortened or recut. This is a remote, short-term assignment suitable for editors with a keen eye for detail and storytelling.

Deliverables

• Edit an 8-minute iMovie segment to remove or cover up a specific participant between 0:00 and 08:00
• Integrate additional supplied footage to fill gaps and maintain narrative flow
• Recut and shorten the segment as needed while preserving documentary coherence
• Deliver a polished, final video file ready for personal use
• Complete the project within the agreed timeline (1–2 days, deadline within a month)
  
  

Requirements

• Proficient in iMovie with a strong portfolio of video editing work
• Demonstrated experience in creative editing, especially removing or masking subjects in footage
• Ability to maintain narrative continuity and visual quality when altering original content
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Reliable, able to work independently, and meet tight deadlines
• Access to a Mac with iMovie and sufficient storage for project files
