➡️ About the role
Successful businesses think globally – but complex compliance challenges create significant barriers to global operations, forcing teams to spend vast amounts of time, money, and energy on administration instead of strategic priorities.
Traditional compliance approaches are too slow, vague, and expensive for modern business dynamics. That's why we've built the platform that automates compliance and duty of care for business travel, workations, and international assignments.
Our vision: A world where global business knows no borders – where compliance is effortless, so growth has no limits. To fuel that vision, we recently closed a €37M Series B — and we're now building the team to match our ambition.
Your role in this mission: We're seeking an experienced Financial Controller to take full ownership of our finance function end-to-end — from accounting and billing to reporting and systems. You'll work closely with our Head of Finance, gradually taking over day-to-day ownership, with the opportunity to grow into a broader finance leadership role. This is not a purely controlling role: you'll work directly in the details, resolve issues, and continuously improve how finance operates across our three entities.
🎯 What you will do
Accounting & closing
- Own the monthly close across all three entities (NL, DE, EG), including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and deferred revenue
- Maintain and improve accounting in Exact Online, ensuring a clean and accurate balance sheet and P&L
Billing & revenue
- Own Chargebee — managing billing, invoicing, and VAT logic to ensure accurate invoices and revenue data
- Review contract and subscription changes from the Customer Success team and align billing with accounting and revenue recognition
Spend management & finance ops
- Own Pleo and expense flows — reviewing expenses, ensuring correct booking, and overseeing AP/AR, payment runs, and collections
- Ensure clean, structured finance operations across the board
Intercompany & group setup
- Own intercompany invoicing and transfer pricing, and reconcile balances across entities
- Coordinate with external accountants in Germany and Egypt, and take ownership of their performance — including improving or changing providers when needed
Reporting & consolidation
- Own entity-level and consolidated reporting, ensuring accurate and timely consolidation across all entities
- Improve reporting quality for management and investors
Systems, automation & data
- Improve and automate finance processes, leveraging AI and tooling to reduce manual work
- Optimize system integrations (Exact, Chargebee, Pleo) and improve our chart of accounts and reporting structure
⭐ What you need to succeed
- 4–7 years of experience in accounting or financial controlling, preferably in a startup or scale-up environment
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Strong accounting fundamentals — debits/credits, balance sheet thinking, monthly close experience
- Comfortable working hands-on in systems and switching between high-level thinking and detailed execution
- Strong Excel skills; experience with Exact Online, Chargebee, or Pleo is a plus
- You take full ownership, fix issues yourself, and continuously improve processes over time
