We're looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our team and lead our accounting efforts for our global operations. This role provides a unique opportunity to be a part of the core financial team of a rapidly growing company. Reporting directly to our Head of Accounting, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our financial data, overseeing cost accounting functions, and optimizing our use of NetSuite. Reporting to the Head of Accounting, you will support the financial control and reporting of Nivoda’s operations, including 10+ global entities. Your role will also involve maintaining our ERP system and enhancing cost visibility across the company’s operations.

What you’ll do:

Financial Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities in NetSuite, including maintaining general ledgers, processing journal entries, and ensuring the integrity of financial data.
  • Optimize the use of NetSuite for accounting processes, integrating cost accounting functions into the system.
  • Lead ERP initiatives related to NetSuite, contributing to system improvements, troubleshooting, and upgrades.

Cost Accounting:

  • Analyze and manage cost accounting activities, ensuring accurate tracking of costs across global operations.
  • Collaborate with the operations and supply chain teams to establish and maintain cost standards for materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Provide insights into cost drivers and support pricing decisions with detailed cost analysis.

Financial Reporting & Control:

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS) and regulations.
  • Assist in consolidating financials across multiple entities and regions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring all records and transactions are properly documented and accurate.

Process Improvement & Auditing:

  • Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and procedures, with a focus on operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead or support external audit processes, ensuring all documentation and financial records are audit-ready.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of financial policies, procedures, and reporting tools to drive efficiencies.

Team Collaboration & Mentorship:

  • Work closely with other departments, including Operations, Supply Chain, and IT, to ensure financial data is integrated and reflective of business operations.
  • Mentor junior accounting team members, providing guidance and support for their professional growth.

What you'll need:

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Accountancy preferred).
  • Certified Accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is highly desired.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting roles, including cost accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of NetSuite and ERP systems implementation and optimization.
  • Experience managing accounting for multiple entities and consolidations.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of IFRS and cost accounting principles.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
  • Ability to work with large datasets and automate reporting processes.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with global teams.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Adaptability to change and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field (Bachelor in Accountancy preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ post article experience (preferably within Big 4 Audit).
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and SOX is a benefit.
  • Experience with NetSuit.
  • CA, RA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification required.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
