Industry & Sector: A fast-growing organisation in the Financial Services / FinTech sector providing analytics-driven finance, advisory and capital management solutions to corporate clients across North America. This is a fully remote role based in Canada supporting finance and business stakeholders with high-impact analysis and decision support.

Primary title: Financial Analyst

Role & Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) ensuring accuracy and timely distribution to stakeholders.
• Design, build and maintain financial models and forecasts to support budgeting, planning and strategic decision-making.
• Perform variance analysis and trend assessment; translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations for business owners and leadership.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and automated reporting solutions using Excel, Power BI/Tableau and SQL to improve data accessibility and reduce manual effort.
• Support month-end close activities, liaise with accounting and operations to reconcile balances and troubleshoot discrepancies.
• Lead ad-hoc financial analysis and business-case modelling for projects, investments, and cost-optimisation initiatives.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
• 2+ years of hands-on financial analysis, FP&A or corporate finance experience supporting operational or commercial teams.
• Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, formulas, macros) and proven financial modelling capability.
• Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools (Power BI or Tableau) and working knowledge of SQL for data extraction.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting methodologies.
• Comfortable working remotely across Canadian time zones and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Professional designation (CPA or CFA) or progress toward certification.
• Experience with cloud-based ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle) or FP&A platforms.
• Familiarity with automation tools (VBA or Python) for reporting and process improvement.
