At its core, this role is grounded in partnering with some of the best storytellers and helping them bring their visions to life on the Pocket FM App across a range of content formats. You shall actively engage with the creative team, writers, data analysts, and producers to work on concepts, research, and data, to create immersive and compelling scripted serialized stories across multiple genres. The successful candidate will marry a strong passion for entertainment and storytelling with a hearty curiosity for innovation and data, to define the content strategy and playbook. Responsibilities:
• Develop and oversee the production of original scripted series from pitch through ongoing production.
• Read and give notes on outlines, scripts, and ongoing series.
• Foster and maintain relationships with; writers, authors, and reps.
• Bring in projects for development through pitches or submissions.
• Generate new show ideas/concepts and identify writers who can execute them.
• Ensure that ongoing series scripts are delivered on schedule.
• Identify trends in the marketplace and work to serve those appetites.
• Collaborate with other departments to identify ideas/concepts based on market testing and to evaluate performance of ongoing series.
• Work with writers to creatively adjust ongoing stories to maximize retention.
Qualifications:
• 2+ years of Creative level or above experience at a studio, network or production company. Or, Literary Agency/Management Company experience.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under time constraints.
• Prior network of writers and reps
• Strong understanding of story, theme, tone, structure, plot, and narrative arcs.
