Cure Alzheimer’s Fund Marketing & Communications Team
Cure Alzheimer’s Fund is seeking a strategic, purpose-driven leader for the Marketing program, preferably with experience in nonprofit marketing. We aspire to be donor-centric in all communications; to both embody and be known for transparency, accountability, accuracy, and integrity; to provide actionable information to our disease community; and to serve as a bridge between our scientists and donors.
Job Description
The Executive Vice President (EVP), Marketing & Communications, is a strategic leader who has significant experience managing an entire marketing program and team of internal staff and vendors, including social media and website communications and metrics; content production for multiple channels, purposes, and audiences; advertising across physical and digital channels; education and advocacy; press relationships; and solicitation and organization materials. They will be enthusiastic about marrying our branding with our values, sharing the groundbreaking science we enable with the public, and deepening our relationship with the donors who make our work possible. The ideal candidate will also have a proven record of creativity and experimentation tied to measurable outcomes as well as a passion for strong writing and storytelling.
The EVP, Marketing & Communications, will be a member of the Executive Committee and will report to the CEO. They will partner closely with the Development team for donor acquisition and stewardship communications campaigns, with the Research team to ensure that scientific communications are substantive and accurate, and with Business Services to develop and manage the Marketing budget.
Other Key Responsibilities
- Stay current with—and communicate to various audiences—the overall landscape of Alzheimer’s disease-related research and treatment options; including basic, translational, and clinical trial results reported in meetings, scientific publications, and the popular press.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing and communications team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability.
- Manage relationships with external consultants and vendors to ensure high-quality outputs.
- Utilize data and analytics to inform decision-making, optimize strategies, and measure the effectiveness of all communication initiatives.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field required.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, and brand strategy; at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Nonprofit experience preferred.
- Proven ability to develop and execute integrated marketing and communications strategies aligned with organizational mission and goals.
- Experience with Salesforce CRM and other marketing tools to drive actionable insights and improve campaign performance.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills; ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
- Exceptional project and time management skills with the ability to manage competing requests.
- Strong professional judgement and the ability to exemplify the mission, core values, and vision of our organization.
- High standards for accuracy of both gist and details of the work product.
- Compassion and empathy for those facing the impact of Alzheimer’s disease.
- Experience and comfort with remote work and building professional relationships at a distance.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This role requires domestic travel on an occasional, planned basis, primarily to in-office meetings.
- This role is full-time, but working hours may be flexible depending on circumstances.
- This role can be fully remote or hybrid. It does not require residence in our local area (Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts), but residence on the East Coast is preferred.
Salary and Benefits
- Expected annual salary range for this position is $225,000–$275,000. Final salary and title will be commensurate with experience.
- Employees (and their families) are eligible to enroll in benefits per eligibility rules. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance.
- Benefits also include a 401K plan, paid time off, and 13 holidays per year.
