We are currently seeking an Executive Director, Corporate Development & Operations to join our team.  Reporting to the CEO, this position will provide strategic leadership and drive and support corporate initiatives in the areas of business operations, financial management, corporate and business development.  This is a rare opportunity to join and help build a new biotechnology company from the ground up. 


Primary Responsibilities: 

 

  • Manage and support daily operations across our multi program business model, aligning corporate goals with strategy.   
  • Support and drive business development and partnering activities from sourcing opportunities, evaluation, transactions, to alliance management. 
  • Implement and manage evaluation and definition of strategic imperatives and tactical execution of business priorities. 
  • Provide analysis of evolving market, R&D/competitive landscape, related to business development including forecasting and valuation modeling. 
  • Conduct and assist in business due diligence and partner/target landscape assessments. 
  • Partner with senior executives, finance and R&D to enable strategic resource allocation and trade-off discussions. 
  • Manage and drive new initiatives. 

 

Requirements: 

 

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MD, and/or PhD) strongly preferred. 
  • 8+ years experience with biotech/tech start up and venture backed companies required. 
  • Experienced, well-rounded finance leader with people management experience in a small organization required. 
  • Scientific undergraduate training with experience working in biopharma industry required. 
  • Ability to drive the business forward through application of a deep understanding of the science and broad knowledge of drug development. 
  • Collaborative attitude with strong relationship management skills, adept at working with many different disciplines both inside and outside of the company. 
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and judgment with a detailed but flexible approach. Ability to make sound, scalable, decisions and create clear processes. 
  • Self-motivated individual with a record of achievement through past industry experience. 
  • Knowledge and experience with a variety of financial and accounting software systems desired. 
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and desire to work cross-functionally. 
  • Oversight of alliances at AirNexis including planning regular meetings with the corporate partner, capturing notes and following through the notes to see the actions completed.  
  • Ownership of the corporate deck 
  • Ownership of content of AirNexis website, linkedin, and communications with banks and investors 
  • Active outreach to pharma for BD discussions. This can include traveling to business conferences.  
  • Building and maintaining a central repository for all data to be used internally and in case of due diligence.
