(Senior) Epidemiologist

Remote based in Sweden

Are you an epidemiologist or quantitative researcher passionate about using real‑world data to answer meaningful public health questions? We’re seeking an Epidemiology Analyst to join a scientific team conducting high‑impact observational studies using Swedish and Nordic national health and population registries.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining epidemiologic thinking with hands‑on analytical work, contributing to study design, and shaping evidence that informs healthcare decisions.

About the Role As a Epidemiology Analyst, you will play a central role in the design and execution of epidemiologic studies, working with rich registry data to generate robust, policy‑relevant insights. You’ll collaborate with epidemiologists, statisticians, and scientific leads to translate research questions into analytical plans and deliver high‑quality results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement epidemiologic analyses including cohort construction, exposure/outcome definitions, confounding adjustment, and sensitivity analyses using SAS (and occasionally R or Python).
  • Contribute to the scientific planning of studies by reviewing protocols, statistical analysis plans, and variable definitions; ensure analytical approaches align with epidemiologic best practices.
  • Lead analytical workstreams, present findings to clients, support methodological discussions, and provide guidance to junior analysts while contributing to internal tools, documentation, and training.

What We’re Looking For

  • PhD or MSc in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, Health Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong understanding of epidemiologic study design, bias, confounding, and causal inference principles.
  • Hands‑on experience working with large‑scale health data—ideally Swedish/Nordic registries, but experience with claims or EMR/EHR data is also valuable.
  • Extensive experience in SAS programming (Base, Stat, Macro, Proc SQL); familiarity with R or Python is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic, client‑facing research environment.

Why This Role Stands Out You’ll work with some of the world’s most comprehensive population‑level data sources, contribute to studies that influence real‑world healthcare decisions, and join a collaborative scientific team that values methodological rigor, innovation, and continuous learning.
