Position: English Instructor
Type: Hourly contract
Compensation: $50–$90/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
- Teach online writing and communication courses using engaging, interactive teaching methodologies.
- Develop comprehensive course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and handouts.
- Evaluate and grade student assignments, papers, and coursework with timely, constructive feedback.
- Facilitate dynamic virtual classroom discussions that promote critical thinking and collaboration.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
- Provide individualized academic support to strengthen students’ written and verbal communication skills.
- Stay current with best practices in online education and integrate relevant digital tools into instruction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching writing or communication courses, preferably online or in hybrid formats.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to clarity and detail.
- Experience creating digital course content and working with learning management systems (LMS).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple classes and student records.
- Ability to foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging virtual learning environment.
- Commitment to student success and continuous professional development.
