Role Responsibilities
- Analyze, transcribe, and annotate speech and linguistic data using phonetic principles and IPA notation.
- Support development, testing, and evaluation of speech recognition and synthesis systems.
- Collaborate with linguists, engineers, and researchers to refine pronunciation databases and language resources.
- Assist in curating, organizing, and maintaining audio datasets for language technology projects.
- Prepare project documentation, reports, and training materials.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in phonetic transcription and annotations.
- Continuously learn and apply advancements in phonetics and language technology.
- Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Phonetics, Applied Linguistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Solid understanding of phonetic theory, IPA, and speech sound classification.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to conduct precise linguistic analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, cross-functional environment.
- Enthusiasm for learning new tools and techniques in phonetics and language technology.
- Proficiency in productivity software and willingness to learn specialized annotation tools.
- Familiarity with speech data annotation, linguistic analysis, and computational linguistics concepts.
