Our products are sold through our own webshops, including LumenXL.nl, PrikkabelLED.nl, LumenXL.de, Illulichterkette.de, LumenXL.fr, Guirlandeguinguette.fr and LumenXL.dk. In total we operate more than 15 specialised webshops across Europe, each adapted to its local market. 

Over time we are also building a broader interior and lifestyle brand, where lighting is part of a wider collection of products that help customers create atmosphere in their homes and gardens. 

Our team works from different locations across Europe and focuses on building long-term brands and strong customer relationships. We believe that successful international growth starts with excellent local content and a deep understanding of customers. 

That is why we are looking for someone who writes exceptionally well in English and enjoys refining language until it feels natural, precise and convincing. 


The role 

In this role you will help us perfect the product content for the English market by improving AI-generated translations and adapting them to the expectations of English customers. 

At the same time you will learn our products and customers by working closely with our customer support team. 


In addition to working on the English market, it would be a strong advantage if you also speak German. This would allow you to assist our German customer support team during busy periods and help us maintain fast response times across markets. 


The role (first months) 

During your first 3 months you will focus mainly on improving product content for the English market. 

We use AI tools to translate content, but high-quality localisation always requires human expertise. Your role will be to refine and optimise these texts so they feel natural and convincing. 

Your work will include: 

• Improving AI-translated product descriptions 

• Optimising product titles and category texts 

• Ensuring tone of voice and terminology are consistent 

• Adapting content to fit the expectations of English customers 

• Updating content when new products are added 

Strong writing skills and attention to detail are essential here. 


Understanding our customers 

At LumenXL we believe the best way to build great product content and strong webshops is by staying close to our customers. 

That is why customer support is an important part of this role. By speaking directly with customers you will quickly understand their questions, expectations and buying behaviour. 

These insights help you continuously improve product content and the overall customer experience. 

Through customer support you will learn: 

• What customers care about when buying lighting 

• Which questions they ask most often 

• What information might be missing on our website 


• How English customers make buying decisions 

At LumenXL many team members started in customer support and later grew into roles in marketing, operations, finance or management as they developed deeper expertise within the company. 


How the role can grow 

As you gain experience, the role can expand depending on your strengths and interests. 

This may include: 

• Analysing competitors in the UK and Irish market 

• Suggesting improvements for the webshop 

• Contributing ideas for marketing campaigns or newsletters 

• Helping develop partnerships with local resellers or platforms 

• Collaborating with influencers or partners in the UK and Ireland

• Strong understanding of English language and culture 

• Good working knowledge of German (spoken and written) is a strong advantage

• A proactive mindset and willingness to improve things
