Director of Supply Chain Operations

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Supply Chain Operations to lead the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of supply chain operations across the organization. This leadership role is responsible for optimizing end-to-end operational processes, enhancing efficiency, strengthening cross-functional collaboration, and supporting sustainable business growth through effective supply chain management.
The ideal candidate is a results-oriented leader with extensive experience in supply chain operations, process optimization, inventory planning, logistics coordination, and operational strategy. This individual will work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to develop scalable solutions that improve operational performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute supply chain operations strategies that align with organizational goals and long-term business objectives.
- Lead end-to-end supply chain operations, including planning, inventory management, logistics coordination, procurement support, fulfillment, and operational performance.
- Establish operational standards, policies, and best practices to improve efficiency, consistency, and service quality.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, Finance, Sales, Customer Service, and Executive Leadership to support business initiatives and optimize supply chain performance.
- Analyze operational data, market trends, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Oversee inventory planning, demand forecasting, capacity planning, and resource allocation to support business needs.
- Drive initiatives that improve operational workflows, reduce process inefficiencies, and enhance overall supply chain effectiveness.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators while providing regular operational reports and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Manage departmental budgets, operational priorities, and long-term planning activities.
- Oversee relationships with logistics providers, suppliers, and operational partners to support efficient business operations.
- Ensure operational activities align with internal policies, quality standards, and organizational objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 23+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, operations, logistics, or inventory management, including leadership responsibilities.
- Demonstrated success leading supply chain operations and improving organizational performance through strategic initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain planning, inventory management, logistics operations, procurement processes, and operational excellence.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with senior leadership.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to operational decision-making.
- Experience managing operational budgets, performance metrics, and resource planning.
- Proficiency with enterprise resource planning systems, supply chain technologies, and reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CSCP, CPIM, CLTD, CPSM, or equivalent are a plus.
- Experience supporting multi-site or enterprise-level supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and operational optimization strategies.
- Experience leading geographically distributed or fully remote operations teams.
