Our client is an innovative healthcare technology and services organization that is assembling a prospective leadership team as part of a federal bid process to oversee the operational, technological, and quality infrastructure supporting 988 nationwide.


The Role:

The Director of Quality Improvement will lead the design and oversight of national quality assurance and performance improvement strategies supporting a proposed public health initiative aligned with the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. This executive will be responsible for establishing quality standards, monitoring performance metrics, overseeing incident review processes, and driving continuous improvement across a distributed, multi-state crisis response network. The role requires experience in behavioral health, healthcare, or public health environments where regulatory compliance, risk management, and service excellence are critical.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee national quality assurance frameworks and performance benchmarks
  • Lead incident review processes, including post-event analysis and corrective action planning
  • Monitor service metrics and ensure alignment with defined KPIs
  • Partner with operations, data, and training leaders to implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and governance requirements
  • Support audit readiness and reporting to executive and government stakeholders


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in quality improvement within healthcare, behavioral health, crisis systems, or regulated public health environments
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing performance improvement programs at scale
  • Experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and risk mitigation frameworks
  • Familiarity with federal or state oversight environments preferred
  • Strong analytical and governance capabilities
