The Role

Lead the full DTC customer journey at Llama — from first click through repeat subscription. You’ll bring holistic thinking to every piece of the funnel, with the opportunity to earn full ownership of each layer as you prove it out. This is a ground-floor seat at an 8-figure brand with a lean team, real decision-making authority, and the runway to make this role as big as you can handle.


Why This Role, Why Now

We’re unusually primed for growth. We’ve proven the product. We’ve proven the demand. What we haven’t done yet is build the full-funnel DTC engine that turns our best customers into subscribers at scale. That’s your job.


You’ll have a lean team, direct access to both founders, AI tools pre-wired into daily workflow, and the freedom to build the function the way a great operator would. This is a highly visible role with significant equity upside. For the right person, this has the potential to grow into a senior leadership position up to and including CMO. We promote on impact, not tenure.


What Success Looks Like

First 90 days: Measurable lift in new customer CVR, AOV, and subscriber attach rate. A weekly test-and-learn cadence the team plugs into.


First 12 months: DTC is a materially bigger share of revenue. LTV/CAC is moving in the right direction at scale. You’ve earned the trust to own more.

What You’ll Own


1. Website & Conversion

  • Own the Shopify storefront — site experience, product pages, collections, checkout, and upsell/cross-sell flows
  • Build and iterate on landing pages and advertorial funnels engineered for conversion from paid traffic
  • Continuously optimize the post-click experience to improve conversion rate, AOV, and subscriber attach rate
  • Ensure the on-site experience is cohesive from ad click through purchase and beyond


2. Testing & Experimentation

  • Build a culture of experimentation at Llama — a documented testing cadence, shared learnings, and decisions driven by data instead of instinct
  • Design and run A/B and multivariate tests across the full funnel — landing pages, product pages, checkout flow, offers, pricing, and subscription incentives
  • Design and analyze offer tests (pricing, promotions, bundle structures, subscription incentives) to find the highest-converting, most sustainable offer structures


3. Retention & Subscription Experience

  • Optimize the subscription-first commerce experience to maximize subscriber acquisition, retention, and LTV
  • Build and refine lifecycle flows (email, SMS) that convert first-time buyers into long-term subscribers
  • Optimize retention mechanics — subscription UX, reorder timing, win-back sequences, and churn reduction
  • Identify and close conversion leaks across the entire customer journey, from ad click through repeat purchase


4. Acquisition & Creative Partnership

  • Manage and direct agency and freelance media buyers, ensuring spend is efficient and aligned with post-click performance
  • Provide strategic input on pre-click creative, audience targeting, and channel mix based on downstream conversion data
  • Partner with creative teams and freelancers to inform ad creative based on what's converting post-click — translating CRO and funnel data into creative briefs, messaging direction, and winning angles
  • Drive DTC growth alongside the founders, with accountability for new customer CAC, LTV, contribution margin, and subscriber growth


5. Analytics & Insights

  • Own growth analytics: LTV/CAC modeling, cohort analysis, subscription metrics, funnel performance, and incrementality testing
  • Translate data into action — surface the insights that drive testing priorities, budget allocation, and strategic decisions
  • Leverage AI tools throughout the process — Claude Code, Claude Cowork, and other AI-native workflows for analysis, landing page builds, and experiment velocity


What You Bring

  • 5+ years in ecommerce, growth, or performance marketing with DTC brand experience
  • Deep CRO experience — you’ve run structured testing programs and driven measurable improvements in conversion rate, AOV, and LTV
  • Strong command of Shopify and landing page builders
  • Experience managing media buyers (agency or freelance) and translating post-click data into pre-click strategy
  • Fluency in data and analytics — you make decisions from dashboards, cohort data, and subscription metrics, not gut feel
  • Experience building and optimizing post-click funnels: advertorials, landing pages, and conversion flows
  • Strong copywriting instincts — you can write high-converting copy or effectively direct someone who does
  • Daily, operational comfort with AI tools as workflow accelerators (Claude Code, Claude Cowork, and similar)


What Sets You Apart

  • You’ve worked in the supplement, consumables, or health and wellness DTC space
  • You have deep experience with subscription-first commerce models and know how to optimize the subscribe-and-save experience
  • You’ve built or managed advertorial and content-commerce funnels end to end
  • You’ve scaled a DTC brand’s ecommerce channel profitably into seven or eight figures
  • You’ve built the ecommerce or growth function at a brand, not just inherited one
  • You think in systems — full-funnel optimization, testing frameworks, compounding improvements — not just isolated tactics


Compensation & Benefits

  • $150,000 – $200,000 base salary, depending on experience
  • Equity compensation with significant upside
