Job Overview
RETHINK Retail is seeking a highly organized and relationship-driven Director of Community Engagement to drive the growth and engagement of our senior executive communities.
In this role, you will lead and serve as the primary owner of the Global Retail Leaders (GRL) community, a curated network of senior retail executives focused on meaningful connections, peer learning, and thought leadership across the global retail ecosystem. You will also help develop and execute engagement strategies across additional RETHINK Retail communities.
This is a highly relationship-driven role requiring strong familiarity with the retail and commerce industry and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders. Working closely with editorial, marketing, and events teams, you will manage the member experience, curate programming, and create visibility opportunities for members across RETHINK Retail’s media and event platforms.
The ideal candidate is proactive, well organized, and comfortable managing multiple community initiatives while engaging with executives across the global retail ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Community Growth & Membership
- Lead the growth and positioning of the Global Retail Leaders community as a premier network of senior retail executives.
- Define and track KPIs tied to community growth, engagement, and revenue impact.
- Oversee the recruitment, evaluation, onboarding, and ongoing member experience.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for members, ensuring a high-quality and personalized experience across all community touchpoints.
- Continuously identify opportunities to strengthen the value and positioning of the community within the global retail ecosystem.
Ecosystem Engagement & Member Recruitment
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the global retail ecosystem, including retailers, brands, technology providers, investors, and industry organizations.
- Identify, recruit, and cultivate senior retail leaders who should be part of the Global Retail Leaders community through direct outreach and industry relationships.
- Actively participate in retail industry events, conferences, and gatherings to strengthen RETHINK Retail’s presence and identify potential members.
- Develop and manage ongoing communications to keep members informed and engaged across all of RETHINK Retail communities.
- Oversee community discussion groups across platforms such as WhatsApp, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels.
- Continuously engage with members to strengthen relationships, gather feedback, and improve programming and engagement.
Community Programming, Content & Events
- Design and execute programming that facilitates meaningful peer-to-peer connections and industry dialogue among senior executives.
- Collaborate with the RETHINK Retail events team to integrate GRL activations into major industry conferences.
- Support members in amplifying their professional voices through participation in RETHINK Retail initiatives and media channels.
- Coordinate with editorial and marketing teams to feature members across content, podcasts, events, and other visibility opportunities.
Qualifications
- Strong familiarity with the retail, commerce, or retail technology industry.
- 5 years of experience in community leadership, executive programs, professional networks, or industry events within the retail or commerce ecosystem.
- Strong relationship management skills and the ability to engage senior leaders.
- Experience organizing virtual and in-person professional events.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.

Additional Information
- This role reports to the VP of Community & Strategy at RETHINK Retail.
- This is a fully remote position, requiring strong self-management, organization, and accountability.
- The role includes regular participation in industry events and conferences, and may require travel throughout the year.
