My client, a global leader in renewable energy technology, is seeking an experienced Business Development Director within Solar & Storage to drive commercial strategy, pipeline development, and project execution across Germany and Europe.
This senior leadership role is central to expanding market presence in solar and energy storage and delivering high-impact renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Define and implement commercial strategies to expand market presence in Germany and Europe
- Identify and secure new opportunities in solar, energy storage, and hybrid energy systems
- Conduct market intelligence and competitive analysis to support decision-making
Project Management
- Lead end-to-end delivery of key solar and storage projects from development through execution
- Ensure projects meet budget, timeline, quality, and regulatory requirements
- Identify and mitigate commercial, technical, financial, and operational risks
Strategic Partnerships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, EPCs, utilities, IPPs and key industry stakeholders
- Negotiate commercial agreements supporting long-term business growth
- Act as a senior contact for major clients and partners
Representation & Market Engagement
- Represent the business at industry events, trade fairs, and sector conferences
- Develop presence and positioning through networking and partnerships
Performance Leadership
- Monitor commercial initiative performance and implement strategic improvements
- Work closely with international teams to align strategy and share best practices
Candidate Requirements
Education & Experience
- Degree in Engineering, Business, Renewable Energy or related discipline (MBA beneficial)
- At least 7 years’ experience in business development and project leadership within the solar and/or storage sector
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of PV systems, energy storage solutions and European regulatory frameworks

- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
- Strategic and results-oriented mindset
Languages & Travel
- Fluent German and English required; other European languages a plus
- Willingness to travel across Germany and Europe regularly
