Job Description: Director of Business Development – Real Estate & Construction
About Us
FactualIQ builds Enterprise Decision Engines for mid-market companies that are data-rich and analysis poor. Most enterprises have data scattered across dozens of systems — ERPs, CRMs, project tools, document stores — with no way to synthesize it into strategic decisions. FactualIQ ingests data from all these sources, builds a unified Source of Truth, and deploys always-on decision workflows that deliver sourced, traceable insight reports to executives continuously. This role brings FactualIQ’s Decision Engine to Real Estate and Construction enterprises.
About the Role
As Director of Business Development for Real Estate & Construction, you'll own our go-to-market motion in one of our highest-growth verticals. You're a mid-career professional with an established network across real estate development, construction, architecture, affordable housing, or real estate investing — and you understand the software and technical systems these companies use to get work done.
This is a sales role. You'll be prospecting, qualifying, and building a deal pipeline while working alongside our executive team to shape our vertical strategy. You’ll have a competitive product, strong pre-sales support, and a leadership team that moves with you quickly. This is a fully remote position with 50% travel.
What You'll Do
Pipeline & Revenue Generation
- Build and manage a qualified pipeline of enterprise software opportunities across real estate development, general contracting, architecture/engineering firms, affordable housing operators, lenders, and real estate investment and syndication groups.
- Own the full sales cycle from initial outreach through signed agreement, in partnership with our technical and executive teams.
- Develop account plans for strategic targets and manage relationships through complex, multi-stakeholder deal processes.
- Manage accounts as long-term relationships.
Market Development
- Leverage your relationships with decision-makers (C-Suite, Development Heads, Technology Heads) to generate warm introductions and accelerate deal cycles.
- Identify and cultivate channel and referral partnerships with consultants, systems integrators, and advisory firms active in the real estate sector.
- Build presence in the affordable housing ecosystem, including relationships with state housing finance agencies, community development organizations, lenders, and syndication groups.
- Represent FactualIQ at relevant industry conferences and trade associations such as ULI, NAHB, NAIOP, AIA, NMHC, NCSHA, HTFC/HCR in New York, HCD/TCAC in California, and others relevant to your network.
Strategy & Voice of Customer
- Provide ongoing market intelligence to inform product positioning, pricing, and roadmap priorities for the real estate vertical.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, delivery, and marketing to ensure proposals, POC scopes, and demos reflect real industry workflows.
- Contribute to vertical-specific marketing content, case studies, and thought leadership.
What You'll Bring
- 8–14 years of professional experience with deep real estate industry experience and experience with real estate-related enterprise software.
- First-hand understanding of workflows, pain points, and decision dynamics in one or more of the following: real estate development, construction management, architecture/engineering, affordable housing development, or real estate investment and syndication.
- Familiarity with LIHTC, HUD programs, state housing finance agencies, or affordable housing syndication.
- An active network of decision-makers at real estate developers, general contractors, housing finance agencies, or investment/syndication firms. Relationships that translate into real conversations within 30 days..
- Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate ROI and strategic value to C-suite stakeholders while engaging credibly with operations and technology leads.
- Organized, data-driven pipeline management using CRM tools, with the ability to forecast accurately and report clearly to leadership.
What You Might Bring
- Experience implementing enterprise software, data analytics, AI, or decision intelligence solutions in real estate or adjacent industries.
- A track record of building referral or channel partnerships with consultants, brokers, or systems integrators.
- Experience operating in a growth-stage company or building a new market vertical from the ground up.
What We Value
- A growth mindset, building on the recognition that a good professional is always learning.
- Creative, entrepreneurial flexibility to try innovative approaches to solving problems, coupled with the resilience to recognize mistakes quickly, adapt, and correct course as needed to achieve success.
- Speed to solutions, with rapid, well-planned iterations.
- Transparent, frequent, and constructive communication skills and practices.
- Low-ego collaboration, where feedback is valued, everyone's voice is heard, debates and disagreements are used for the team's benefit, and commitment matters.
- Mission alignment and care for delivering highest-standard quality to support our clients' success.
Compensation
We offer an attractive base compensation and benefits package, with additional percentage-driven bonuses paid for each closed project. Total target compensation for 2026 exceeds $350,000 annualized.
Travel Requirements
This role requires regular travel for client meetings, prospect engagements, and industry events, typically 50%+ annually depending on deal activity and conference schedule.
Reporting
This role reports directly to the President and works closely with the executive leadership team on vertical strategy, pricing, and client engagement.
