Position: Scientific Visualization Engineer (ParaView)

Type: Engineering

Compensation: $50 - $150/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10–40 hours/week


Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement advanced visualization pipelines using ParaView to interpret and present simulation data
  • Process, analyze, and visualize large-scale CFD and FEM datasets, ensuring data quality and integrity throughout
  • Design and apply custom filters, scripting, and parallel processing techniques for high-performance visualizations
  • Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate complex data requirements into clear visual representations
  • Produce publication-ready scientific visualizations tailored to research goals and analysis needs
  • Document workflows, best practices, and technical approaches for reproducibility and knowledge sharing
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest ParaView features, community tools, and trends in scientific visualization


Requirements

  • Deep expertise in ParaView, including scripting (Python, ParaView macros) and advanced visualization workflows
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale simulation data (CFD/FEM) and domain-specific visualization techniques
  • Strong proficiency in parallel data processing and working with HPC or distributed computing environments
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality, insightful visualizations for technical analysis and publication
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on clear documentation and cross-team collaboration
  • Solid problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and an analytical mindset
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience integrating ParaView with custom analysis tools or bespoke research software stacks
  • Background in scientific computing, numerical methods, or related computational sciences
  • Familiarity with open-source scientific visualization ecosystems and contributing to community initiatives
