Role Description The Data Specialist is a full-time, remote role responsible for managing and analyzing organizational data to support program operations and strategic decision-making. Day-to-day tasks include collecting, cleaning, and organizing data from multiple sources, maintaining databases, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity. The role involves performing data analysis to identify trends, generate insights, and create reports and dashboards for leadership and program teams. The Data Specialist collaborates with staff to define data requirements, supports performance metrics and impact reporting, and helps improve data processes and documentation across the organization.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Data Analytics and Data Analysis skills to interpret complex datasets and generate meaningful insights.
- Candidates should possess robust Data Management skills, including experience with data collection, cleaning, validation, and database maintenance.
- Candidates should possess solid Data Modeling skills and Analytical Skills to design data structures and support forecasting and performance measurement.
- Proficiency with common data tools (e.g., Excel, BI tools, databases) and experience creating clear reports and visualizations.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in nonprofit, social services, or youth-focused organizations is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or related discipline) or equivalent practical experience.
