Data Analyst - Power BI report developer (Contract Position)
Number of Positions: 1 Duration: 6 months position, possible extension
Location: Toronto, or Vancouver ideally, can be other locations as long as you are willing to travel occasionally to Toronto or Vancouver needs based
Must be eligible to work in Canada
Primarily remote, occasional travel to Toronto or Vancouver
Fluency in English is a must, bilingual French is an asset
Roles and responsibilities:
As a Data Analyst, you will play a key role in optimizing Power BI dashboards, focusing on user-friendliness, performance, flexibility, and standardization. You will support the design of data architecture structures to support Business Intelligence initiatives. You will help develop Business Intelligence reports and operational analytics capabilities, including but not limited to trends and projections of operational performance indicators. You will perform operational analyses of data quality, such as data quality measures, metrics, and root cause analysis in areas such as customer service.
You will optimize Power BI dashboards with a focus on user-friendliness, performance, flexibility, and standardization, and help develop Business Intelligence reports and operational analytics capabilities.
Must have skills / Qualifications / experience
2-3yrs of the following:
Proven experience designing business-oriented Power BI reports.
Proficiency in SQL queries and familiarity with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
Strong understanding of database systems, OLAP, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
Experience in data warehouse design, including dimensional modeling.
Prior experience as a BI Developer or Analyst.
Strong analytical mindset with effective problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive innovation.
Key technical skills: SQL, Power BI, Python
