About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Data Protection Analyst to join our remote team. In this role, you will play a vital part in implementing and supporting enterprise Data Protection, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Data Valuation capabilities. Your responsibilities will include working closely with the Office of the Chief Data Officer (CDO) to bolster data management practices, enhance data security measures, and promote Zero Trust principles for safeguarding sensitive information. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience configuring data protection tools, supporting DLP operations, and collaborating with technical teams to classify and secure data effectively. Your expertise will contribute to developing and refining data protection strategies, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and federal regulations, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in data governance and security.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering, data analysis, data governance, data protection, or related technical domains
- Experience with DLP tools and methodologies in cloud or hybrid environments
- Familiarity with data classification, data sensitivity, and data valuation practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent documentation capabilities
- Hands-on experience with data modeling, data flow diagrams, and data lifecycle management
- Experience working within Agile teams and workflows
- Active Public Trust security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related fields
- Support the configuration, deployment, and tuning of Data Protection and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions across cloud and on-premises environments
- Assist in developing and refining data protection strategies aligned with Zero Trust Architecture principles
- Contribute to assessments and provide recommendations to enhance data loss prevention, data valuation, and data governance practices
- Collaborate with Infrastructure & Operations teams to ensure consistent implementation of data protection controls
- Develop and maintain data classification and data valuation frameworks, including documentation and standards
- Support updates to policies, workflows, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for handling sensitive data
- Create documentation, diagrams, and guidance materials to support data protection and governance initiatives
- Participate in technical reviews and risk assessments related to data security
- Evaluate data protection tools, including DLP rule sets, tagging/classification tools, and cloud-native security features
- Assist with data categorization and classification activities in line with Zero Trust requirements
- Maintain data definitions, data health metrics, and governance documentation to promote organizational consistency
- Work with cross-functional teams to clarify data protection requirements and support related project activities
