About The Role

The position is a remote, full-time role designed for a detail-oriented and communicative professional to serve as a vital link between physician offices, patients, and pharmacy operations. The primary responsibilities include managing inbound and outbound communications, ensuring accurate documentation and organization of inbound image documents, and facilitating the creation of patient profiles and referrals within pharmacy management systems. The role requires excellent communication skills to convey information clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining smooth pharmacy operations by answering calls, transferring inquiries, and resolving internal and external questions related to prescriptions and pharmacy care. Additionally, the role involves understanding the nuances of different disease states to support patients and pharmacy care teams effectively, ensuring compliance with policies and safety regulations. Qualifications

  • Active Pharmacy Technician registration with the State Board of Pharmacy
  • Broad educational background, typically a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences, or related fields, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a healthcare-related call center, pharmacy physician’s office, or social service environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proactive attitude and quick learner
  • Ability to understand and navigate pharmacy management systems and document management protocols

Responsibilities

  • Convey professional communication with physician offices at all times, both orally and written
  • Understand inbound image document requirements, including organization and attachment in pharmacy management systems
  • Execute necessary steps based on document type and program requirements to create patient profiles and referrals
  • Maintain the main pharmacy line, answer calls promptly, and transfer inbound callers to appropriate extensions
  • Document clarification requests, follow-ups, and progress updates accurately in Pathpoint Rx/ScriptMed systems
  • Answer and resolve internal inquiries within designated timeframes
  • Make outbound calls to physician offices to request prescription refills and updates on pending clarifications
  • Receive written prescription clarifications or refill requests, verify completeness and accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, safety rules, and regulations
  • Assist patients and Pharmacy Care Coordinators with drug therapy and pharmacy care issues, considering disease-specific challenges
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations and patient care
