About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team within the construction industry. This is a permanent position designed for professionals who excel in financial analysis, reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, coupled with at least five years of relevant experience, preferably within the construction industry. Proficiency in accounting software, especially Deltek, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of financial reporting standards, year-end audit procedures, and industry-specific accounting practices. Excellent mathematical, analytical, and research skills are required, along with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. A deep understanding of business principles, data privacy standards, and organizational skills are critical. The candidate should exhibit integrity, honesty, and a keen eye for detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Document financial transactions accurately by entering account data into the system.
  • Summarize current financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other relevant reports.
  • Audit financial documents to substantiate transactions and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain robust accounting controls by developing, recommending, and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with accounting clerical staff, guiding their activities and providing support as needed.
  • Reconcile discrepancies in financial data by analyzing account information and resolving issues promptly.
  • Secure sensitive financial information through regular database backups and data protection measures.
  • Generate special financial reports by analyzing trends, summarizing data, and providing insights to management.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information to uphold customer trust and operational integrity.
  • Contribute to team efforts by supporting other accounting functions and achieving shared goals.
