About the role
Arabian Private Holdings utilizes precise data to guide important corporate decisions for our clients. This internship provides the essential research and analytical support required to maintain high standards across our active mandates. Currently, we are providing advisory support to a major Birmingham-based partner on a strategic operational review, and this role is central to organizing the data that will inform their future direction.

About Arabian Private Holdings
We operate on the belief that large teams and hundred-page decks often obscure the real issues facing a business. A board or a family group needs clear, independent advice that they can act upon immediately. We are a principal-led firm, meaning the people who analyze the data are the same people who present the findings to the client. Our work encompasses corporate strategy and governance for significant holding companies and government entities. By operating as a fully remote firm, we focus our energy on the quality of our analysis rather than office management. We only take on a select number of mandates where we know our specific expertise will result in better outcomes for the organizations we serve.

What You Will Do
  • Analyze datasets to identify trends that affect the performance of holding company portfolios.
  • Assist in the creation of logical models that help our principals form a view on complex capital allocation questions.
  • Conduct detailed research into the Birmingham market and surrounding sectors to support our current partner engagement.
  • Process raw operational data to help clients gain better portfolio clarity and understand their existing risks.
  • Support the development of governance frameworks by providing quantitative evidence for proposed changes.
  • Collaborate with principals to ensure all data visualizations are clear, honest, and free of unnecessary complexity.
  • Maintain the integrity of internal databases used for benchmarking the performance of various operating models.
  • Prepare summary memos that distill complex numerical findings into plain English for board-level review.

What We Are Looking For
  • A strong foundation in logical reasoning and a natural curiosity about how large businesses function.
  • Basic competency in data tools such as Excel, SQL, or common programming languages used for analysis, perhaps gained through university projects or self-study.
  • The ability to write clearly and present findings without using unnecessary corporate jargon.
  • A disciplined approach to work that allows for high productivity in a fully remote environment.
  • Willingness to learn the intricacies of corporate governance and portfolio management.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring that every figure and calculation is double-checked for accuracy.

How We Work
As a remote firm, we rely heavily on written communication and individual accountability. We do not have layers of middle management: instead, interns work directly with principals who are accountable for the final advice given to a client. This structure demands clarity of thought and a commitment to professional growth. We prioritize the strength of our logical arguments over the length of our presentations. Mentoring happens through active participation in real mandates, where you will see how data directly influences the strategy of major corporations. We choose to prioritize the quality of our analysis and the strength of our relationships over traditional office overhead.

What The Role Offers
  • Practical experience working on high-level corporate strategy for a major Birmingham-based entity.
  • Competitive pay for the internship duration, reflecting the value we place on rigorous analytical support.
  • Direct access to experienced partners who provide honest feedback and professional mentorship.
  • A fully remote work arrangement that emphasizes results and quality of thought over physical presence.
  • Exposure to the complexities of family group governance and large-scale holding company operations.
