In this role, you'll be the crucial link between our technical data teams and our business stakeholders. You will ensure that the data flowing through our ecosystem is accurate, well-governed, and perfectly structured to power cutting-edge analytics, machine learning (ML), and AI initiatives. You will play a key part in transforming raw data into reliable, enterprise-wide assets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and ML engineers to understand their data needs. Translate complex business questions into detailed technical requirements for data sourcing, transformation, and modeling.
  • Data Sourcing & Profiling: Investigate and document source systems. Perform in-depth data profiling to understand data structures, relationships, and quality issues. You'll be the expert who knows what the data really means.
  • Data Quality & Governance: Implement and monitor data quality rules and metrics. Work with data stewards to resolve data anomalies and manage metadata, data lineage, and business glossaries within our data governance framework.
  • Data Warehousing & SQL: Write SQL queries to explore and to validate data in our enterprise data warehouse. Assist data engineers in documenting and validating data objects to ensure they meet business needs.
  • Project Collaboration: Serve as the primary data subject matter expert (SME) on cross-functional projects, ensuring data integrity and providing critical insights throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Testing & Validation: Develop and execute detailed test plans to ensure data accuracy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in a data analyst, business intelligence analyst, or similar role.
  • Proficiency using SQL, data orchestration, and monitoring tools in addition to IT ticketing systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with an ability to speak to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or business-related experience.

Preferred:

  • Experience with a cloud data platform like Snowflake, Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, or Databricks.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and programming languages for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with data governance principles and tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Data Catalog).
  • Exposure to the data requirements of machine learning and AI models.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
