Compensation: $100,000 – $130,000 base + bonus + comprehensive benefits (401(k), medical, dental, vision, and more)

About the Role & Company

James Search Group is partnering with a nationally recognized life insurance organization to hire a Data Analyst II to join their growing enterprise data and analytics team. This role is ideal for an early-career analytics professional (1–3 years of experience) eager to deepen their expertise within a modern cloud-based data environment.


The Data Analyst II will collaborate with stakeholders across actuarial, underwriting, claims, finance, and distribution to deliver reporting, insights, and scalable data solutions. You’ll gain hands-on experience working within an AWS-powered ecosystem leveraging Snowflake and dbt to support enterprise decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, cleanse, and analyze structured datasets to support actuarial, underwriting, and operational objectives
  • Write advanced SQL queries to extract and transform data within Snowflake
  • Build and maintain data models using dbt to ensure scalable, reliable analytics pipelines
  • Support reporting and insight generation for cross-functional business partners
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize workflows within the AWS cloud environment
  • Contribute to documentation, governance, and data quality best practices


Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in SQL
  • Experience working with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses
  • Exposure to or hands-on experience with dbt
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an AWS cloud environment
  • Familiarity with life insurance concepts (underwriting, actuarial analytics, policy administration, or claims reporting)
  • Experience with BI tools for dashboard development
