Qualifications
- 7–10 years of experience as a Data Analyst, preferably within wealth, investments, institutional, or related domains
- Deep domain expertise in private markets, including securities, holdings, transactions, and trading cycles
- Proficiency in SQL for data validation and investigation
- Experience creating Business Requirements Documents (BRD), Source-to-Target Mapping (STM) documents, and comprehensive data analysis documentation
- Solid understanding of data warehouse concepts, data modeling fundamentals, and metadata management
- Experience with data-centric projects such as Master Data Management (MDM), data integration, data warehousing, and analytics
- Familiarity with trading platforms or investment systems like SimCorp, Bloomberg/Polar Lake, Eagle, Charles River, or similar systems (preferred)
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or Databricks (preferred)
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within teams
- Adaptability and creative problem-solving skills
- Lead sessions with business stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify needs, and obtain signoff on project deliverables
- Develop and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRD), Source-to-Target Mapping (STM) documents, and other data analysis artifacts
- Work closely with private markets stakeholders to capture detailed data requirements related to securities, holdings, transactions, trading cycles, and capital markets lifecycle data
- Perform data profiling, quality checks, and metadata capture across investment datasets to ensure data integrity
- Collaborate with data modelers to validate data mappings, support model development, and ensure completeness of data assets
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align on project requirements, dependencies, and delivery timelines
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning and facilitate testing sessions to validate data scenarios and confirm acceptance
- Validate data accuracy and consistency using SQL queries and data warehouse concepts such as dimensions, facts, and lineage
- Support Agile development practices, including story creation, backlog grooming, and participation in daily standups
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of data analysis and documentation in complex project environments
- Competitive salary within the range of $100,000 - $120,000 CAD annually, commensurate with experience and skills
