This Remote Data Analyst role supports analytics and sustainability programs for data center clients. Working under senior analysts and program leadership, you will clean, validate, analyze, and visualize energy and performance datasets to produce accurate reports and dashboards that inform operational and sustainability decisions.

The role is ideal for an early-career analyst with strong technical curiosity who wants to grow skills in data center infrastructure, energy analytics, and visualization tools such as Power BI.


What You’ll Do


  • Clean, organize, and validate large energy and building performance datasets to ensure data accuracy and reliability
  • Build and maintain dashboards, dataflows, and recurring performance reports using Power BI (or similar visualization tools)
  • Use Python, R, and/or SQL to extract, transform, and analyze time-series and tabular datasets
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and performance insights across client portfolios and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Document data sources, assumptions, processing steps, and methodologies clearly and consistently
  • Conduct quality checks and follow established data management standards to maintain high-quality outputs
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously and deliver assigned tasks on schedule
  • Collaborate with internal Energy & Sustainability teams and client stakeholders to meet analytics objectives
  • Learn and apply the confidential client’s internal analytics tools, APIs, and sustainability management software
  • Recommend opportunities to improve workflows, automation, and reporting efficiency


What We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, analytics, data science, or a related field (minimum)
  • 0–2 years of experience in data analysis; experience in energy, building performance, or sustainability is a plus
  • Proficiency with one or more data analysis tools/languages: Python, R, or SQL
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and interest in sustainability and energy efficiency
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Eagerness to learn new tools, systems, and industry concepts


Preferred Qualifications


  • Academic projects, internships, or prior work applying data analysis to real-world or simulated datasets
  • Hands-on experience cleaning, transforming, and validating datasets (time-series experience preferred)
  • Experience creating dashboards or analytical reports to communicate findings and recommendations
  • Familiarity with building management systems (BMS), Modbus protocols, or mechanical/electrical building engineering concepts
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel for analysis and PowerPoint/Word for presenting results and reports
  • Understanding of predictive analytics models; exposure to operationalizing ML models is a plus
  • Strong team player with experience working in collaborative, cross-functional settings
  • Ability to synthesize analytical findings into concise written summaries or presentations


Compensation & Benefits


  • Base pay range: $65,000 – $80,000 per year (good‑faith estimate; final compensation will be based on skills, experience, location, and applicable law)
  • Employment type: Contract / Full time (as indicated by the confidential client)
