Position: Data Engineer

Type: Contract

Compensation: $70–$85/hour

Location: Onsite

Commitment: Full-time

Role Responsibilities

• Manage data labeling workflows, including data enqueueing, UI for labeling, and extracting labels into datasets for the modeling team.
• Maintain large-scale, efficient data processing pipelines for billions of images using machine learning models and LLMs.
• Ensure governance of datasets, focusing on access, retention, and privacy compliance.
• Collaborate with engineers to identify model gaps and prepare necessary data for model training iterations.
• Scale validated evaluation protocols with product development teams, including auditing and correcting human-labeled data.
• Work independently and manage time effectively to improve AI model performance.
  
  

Qualifications

Must-Have

• Basic knowledge of Python and SQL.
• Basic knowledge of computer vision and generative models.
• Basic knowledge with data ETL workflows & pipelines.
• Associate's degree or equivalent training in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Physics, Bioinformatics, or other STEM subjects.
• Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and aptitude for experimental investigations.
  
  

Preferred

• Prior industrial experience in software development and testing.
• Research experience in human-computer interaction.
• Previous experience at a major technology company.
  
  

Compensation & Legal

• Hourly contractor
