About The Role
The Commercial Data Analyst at Cardinal Health plays a pivotal role in supporting the sales, marketing, and pricing teams within the Medical Segment. This position involves transforming complex sales, marketing, pricing, and third-party data into meaningful, actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making. Using advanced analytics, data transformation, automation, and visualization tools such as Excel, Alteryx, and Tableau, the analyst will develop and maintain analytical solutions that address business needs. The role requires a proactive approach to understanding business challenges, translating vague requests into concrete deliverables, and communicating findings effectively across various organizational levels. The Commercial Data Analyst is expected to work on multi-week projects as well as ad hoc requests, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of insights that drive competitive advantage and operational efficiency.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Science, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting sales and marketing analytics functions
- Proficiency in requirements gathering and user acceptance testing
- Experience with relational databases, SQL, and data exploration tools; Alteryx experience preferred
- Ability to translate vague business requests into clear, actionable analytics projects
- Experience working with complex data environments and integrating disparate data sources, including third-party data
- Strong presentation and communication skills, capable of conveying complex insights clearly and persuasively
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and basic data visualization tools; some experience with Salesforce.com is advantageous
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and drive results with minimal guidance
- Lead and execute multi-week projects and ad hoc data analysis requests to support sales, marketing, and pricing strategies
- Develop, deliver, and maintain analytic solutions, acting as a consultant and product manager for stakeholders
- Identify business problems and opportunities by leveraging data insights and advanced analytics techniques
- Translate business needs into technical requirements and design effective reporting solutions
- Interpret analysis results, identify trends and issues, and develop actionable recommendations
- Apply data aggregation, descriptive analysis, and visualization techniques to communicate complex findings
- Present insights clearly to diverse audiences, influencing decision-making processes
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to changing business priorities and deadlines
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, becoming a trusted analytics partner
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to analytics processes and standards
