We are seeking a detail-oriented Credentialing Specialist to support a growing healthcare organization as it transitions credentialing functions in-house following a recent merger. This is a fully remote opportunity with strong potential for long-term growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle credentialing and re-credentialing for healthcare providers
- Track and monitor licenses, certifications, and expirables to ensure ongoing compliance
- Perform primary source verifications (PSV) and maintain accurate, up-to-date records
- Submit and track payer enrollments with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans
- Communicate with providers to request and collect required documentation and ensure timely completion
- Review provider files for accuracy and prepare submissions for credentialing committee review
- Ensure providers meet all regulatory and compliance requirements, including OIG exclusion checks
- Maintain and update data within credentialing systems and internal platforms
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of credentialing experience
- Working knowledge of insurance payers and enrollment processes
- Experience in FQHC or similar healthcare environments preferred, but not required
- Proficiency in Excel and/or Outlook
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with provider and payer enrollment (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial plans)
- Familiarity with Athenahealth or NextGen EMR systems
- Experience using Workday, Smartsheet, or credentialing software platforms
- Prior remote/work-from-home experience
Schedule & Training
- Monday–Friday schedule with flexibility (Central Time preferred)
