Company Description

Heave is a creative agency that turns brands into cultural moments. We work with an extensive network of influencers and digital platforms to take campaigns from concept to viral success. If you've scrolled past something that made you stop, laugh, and share — there's a good chance we were behind it.

The Role

We're looking for a mid-level creative who lives and breathes internet culture. You'll own the creative direction for our social campaigns on Instagram — coming up with meme concepts, crafting content that feels native to the platform, and figuring out what makes people hit share. This isn't about polished brand ads. It's about understanding what's funny, what's trending, and how to make a brand part of the conversation without being cringe. You'll work closely with our strategy and influencer teams to develop content that drives real engagement — not just impressions.

What you'll do

  • Develop meme and social-first creative concepts for client campaigns on Instagram (Reels, Stories, carousels, static posts)
  • Monitor trends, formats, and cultural moments and move fast to capitalize on them
  • Collaborate with influencer and strategy teams to align creative with campaign goals
  • Pitch creative ideas to internal teams and occasionally to clients
  • Help shape the visual and tonal identity of campaigns to feel authentic on-platform

What we're looking for

  • 3-5 years of experience creating social content, ideally in an agency or brand environment
  • A portfolio or examples of social/meme content you've created (send us your best — a Google Drive link, a burner meme account, whatever works)
  • Deep fluency in Instagram — you understand the algorithm, the formats, and what performs
  • Strong visual eye and ability to work quickly in tools like Figma, Canva, CapCut, or similar
  • You actually spend time on the internet and can explain why something went viral
  • Bonus: experience with short-form video production or motion graphics
