Role Description
We're hiring a Creative Director to own Waterboy's creative output end to end. You'll set the bar for how we look, sound, and show up. From the next big campaign to the footer copy on a landing page.
You'll lead a small team of:
- 2 full-time videographers and editors
- 1 full-time designer
- + help us hire a copywriter and other great people along the way
We are looking for a CD that comes from a copywriting background. To start, you'll be hands-on enough to write the lines yourself.
This role sits at the intersection of brand and marketing. You'll partner closely with our founders, marketing team, and external collaborators to turn strategy into work that people actually remember.
What you will do:
- Own and evolve Waterboy's tone of voice, making sure it carries consistently across every touchpoint -> ads, website, emails, packaging copy, social, the lot
- Lead the concepting and execution of brand campaigns, from the big idea down to the final asset
- Direct the look and feel of our digital presence
- Manage, mentor, and get the best work out of a small creative team
- Brief and review work from external partners (freelancers, agencies, production)
- Sit in the room with founders and marketing leads to shape the creative direction of the business
What we are looking for:
- You came up writing, and you still write. Tone of voice is your thing.
- 7+ years of experience, with at least a couple leading creative teams or projects
- A portfolio of campaign work that made people stop scrolling, screenshot, or actually laugh
- Strong visual instincts, even if you don't design yourself. You can art-direct, give sharp feedback, and tell when something's nearly there vs. actually there
- Experience working on a consumer brand (CPG, beverage, or DTC a plus)
- Comfortable being hands-on and strategic in the same week
