What You'll Do
- Oversee all accounting operations and support the accounting team with dynamic leadership that fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
- Establish (in coordination with CFO) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on quarterly, monthly, and annual basis.
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to local and national legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Serve as an analytical resource and trusted advisor to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
- Strong technical skills with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and financial management and tax software.
- Strong leadership skills to manage and lead the accounting team.
- Extensive experience in partnering with executive teams to deliver financial insights, facilitate strategic decision-making, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
- Expertise in preparing and analyzing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, etc.
- Ability to create and manage budgets and financial forecasts to guide the organization's financial strategy.
- Knowledge of tax regulations, ensuring compliance to optimize tax liabilities and avoid penalties.
- Proficient in analyzing financial data to uncover trends, assess risks, identify opportunities, and deliver actionable recommendations.
- Skilled in strategic financial planning to support business growth and profitability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
- Minimum 10 years’ professional experience in finance or accounting, with a minimum of 5 years in a management/leadership role.
