The Simcoe County District School Board is accepting applications for the following position:
2026-2027 Night School Teaching Positions- Semester 1 & 2
Reporting to the Principal of Adult and Continuing Education, the Night School teacher will be responsible for the instructional delivery of twice weekly synchronous classes (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday) active in-camera participation is mandatory. Teachers will be responsible for all aspects of credit-earning secondary school courses, including record keeping and midterm and final reporting for their assigned course. Teachers should be comfortable teaching in face-to-face, eLearning and hybrid formats.
Intermediate/Senior Qualifications Required In Subject Area
Special Education qualification preferred
Teaching and Learning Through eLearning AQ preferred
Anti-Black Racism qualification preferred
Teaching English Language Learners qualification preferred
Equitable and Inclusive Schools qualification preferred

Successful applicants for the Night School Teacher position will demonstrate evidence of:
- Ability to integrate technology in daily practice
- A deep understanding of online learning pedagogy
- Collaboration and teamwork with colleagues
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum, Growing Success and the School Effectiveness Framework
- 3 hours of SYNCHRONOUS instruction twice a week from 6 pm - 9 pm remotely or at the Barrie Learning Centre (if reliable internet and/or environment is required)
- Implementing effective student assessment practices (e.g. descriptive feedback)
- Enhance curriculum-based content to integrate differentiated instructional strategies designed to improve student engagement and foster deeper learning
