In rural India, where informal healthcare providers play a crucial role in both human and animal health, unregulated antimicrobial use has contributed to rising antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The OASIS project seeks to integrate rural healthcare providers (RHPs) and paraveterinarians (paravets) into antimicrobial stewardship efforts through a technology-driven intervention.
Building On Sustained Implementation Led Advocacy And Research Since 2016, This Initiative Will Deploy The Antibiotic Bandhu App, a Mobile-based Tool Designed To
Coordinate field research and piloting and implementation of Antibiotic Bandhu App in the study state.

- Implement step-by-step antimicrobial use (AMU) guidelines developed by expert task forces for RHPs and paravets.
- Facilitate real-time data collection on AMU, including patient demographics, symptoms, diagnosis, and antimicrobial prescribing patterns.
- Strengthen mentorship networks by linking RHPs and paravets with medical and veterinary professionals to reinforce responsible prescribing practices.
- Provide data-driven insights through analytics dashboards to guide community-based providers and track trends in AMU.
Coordinate field research and piloting and implementation of Antibiotic Bandhu App in the study state.
Deliverables
The position will perform the following tasks:
Technical Responsibilites
- Coordinate meetings for the design of study instruments and workshops, and support qualitative and quantitative data collection in the study areas.
- Contribute to the pilot and scale-up processes of the App.
- Assist in study’s water analysis component – that samples environmental water for resistance patterns.
- Conduct quality checks, data management, and analysis for the study’s evaluation component.
- Assist in sourcing and developing knowledge materials for the App and for various stakeholders.
- Support research publications and policy-related materials.
- Coordinate the organization of dissemination workshops and research team meetings, ensuring proper documentation of proceedings.
- Liaise with block- and district-level government officials, as well as community leaders (PRI).
- Collaborate with researchers from other implementing organizations.
- Maintain and document study materials and provide regular project updates.
- Prepare transcripts and/or detailed notes, along with English translations, of in-depth interviews and focus group discussions.
- Proactively contribute to activities beyond the core role, as needed.
- Ensure systematic maintenance and documentation of study materials and sharing of project updates.
- Show initiative in contributing to activities within and beyond the immediate role mandate.

- A relevant degree in social sciences, public health, management, or a related discipline.

- Around 02-04 Years of experience requirement.
- Experience in designing and implementing community-based studies.
- Prior experience in conducting and analysing surveys, with proficiency in software for online survey implementation and analysis.
- Experience working with health system stakeholders, including formal and informal providers.
- Proven ability to guide and supervise a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bangla.
- Willingness to travel for fieldwork.
- Experience managing field-based health projects in West Bengal.
- Prior knowledge of and experience in antimicrobial resistance.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines effectively.
- Skills in conducting qualitative and quantitative research.
- Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and communication with diverse stakeholders, including government and community-level actors.
