🚀 Co-Founder (Market & Growth) — Cribscope (Netherlands-first)
Cribscope helps students verify rental listings before they send a deposit.
🎓 Student housing is one of the largest — and most broken — markets students are forced to navigate. Across Europe, 17+ million students move cities or countries every year, yet housing search still happens through Facebook groups, screenshots, forwarded messages, and landlords no one can truly verify.
💸 The cost of getting it wrong is real. Studies and student unions across Europe show that 20–25% of international and exchange students encounter scams or serious misrepresentation during housing search. Individual losses often range between €500–€1,500 — for many students, that’s their entire savings. Despite this, there is still no real trust layer in student housing.
Cribscope exists to fix that.
🛡️ We help students get clarity before they pay. A student submits a listing they’re about to commit to, we assess risk signals and inconsistencies, and they receive a clear, fast verdict. We’re not building another housing marketplace — we’re building trust at the moment of highest financial and emotional risk.
We’re early-stage, validation-driven, and moving fast. Right now, distribution is the product.
🔍 The role
We’re looking for a Co-Founder (Market & Growth) to own go-to-market and market penetration in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 and help turn early demand into something repeatable.
You’ll lead hands-on distribution in the places where housing stress actually shows up — Erasmus communities, student groups, Reddit, Facebook, WhatsApp, and university networks. You’ll activate student communities, build partnerships with student organizations and universities, and help translate real market signals into product and operational decisions as we scale.
This is a builder role — not a strategy-only role.
👤 Who you are
You’ve studied abroad (ideally Erasmus) and have lived the student housing problem firsthand: deposits sent blindly, time pressure, language barriers, and lack of local context. You understand how students actually behave under stress — not how platforms assume they behave.
You speak fluent English and have strong instincts for the Dutch student market. You’ve done real go-to-market work at an early stage and are comfortable running experiments, iterating fast, and doing unglamorous work early.
⚙️ Technical & execution mindset (important)
You don’t need to be a traditional engineer, but you should be comfortable:
- Using no-code / low-code tools to iterate quickly
- Working with agentic AI or automation tools to test flows, content, and processes
- Moving fast without waiting on heavy engineering
- Turning scrappy, manual workflows into structured systems
Speed of iteration and real-world execution matter more than perfect architecture at this stage.
📈 What success looks like
Within 3–6 months, students in one or two Dutch cities are submitting real listings for verification without being chased, we’ve identified repeatable acquisition channels, and we’re in active partnership conversations with student organizations or universities.
Compensation: Equity-based (with vesting)
