- Lead cleanup projects for contaminated sites, ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations
- Provide leadership and mentoring to site managers and engineers on assessment procedures and site cleanup
- Negotiate and draft agreements and cleanup action plans with responsible parties
- Oversee field investigations to ensure compliance with cleanup actions and agency requirements
- Prepare briefings and updates for agency leadership on complex cleanup sites
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in the state of Washington or equivalent
- Five years of experience in environmental engineering
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of the Model Toxics Control Act and related regulations
- Ability to achieve professional registration as an engineer in Washington within six months of appointment
- Expert knowledge of sediment management standards or similar regulations
- Excellent negotiation and facilitation skills
- Strong project management experience
- Knowledge of property sampling and remediation techniques
- Experience with habitat restoration projects
