My client are building a global platform for healthcare data availability. Their mission is to simplify and secure access to health data across the entire ecosystem—empowering better, faster, and more connected care.
As CTO, you will define and execute the technical strategy for this global platform. You’ll modernize the architecture, embed AI at scale, and take on complex challenges involving diverse healthcare processes, heterogeneous EHR implementations, and fragmented data standards and regulations. You will lead, mentor, and grow a world-class engineering team, fostering innovation while ensuring the platform remains robust, scalable, and secure. You will also serve as the organization’s external technology representative.
Responsibilities
- Define and deliver a multi-year technical strategy aligned with the organization’s mission.
- Lead, mentor, and expand engineering teams across multiple locations (including the Netherlands and India).
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Drive the design and evolution of a layered global healthcare data availability platform.
- Ensure simplicity, scalability, security, and reliability in all architectural decisions.
- Bring expertise in XDS, FHIR, openEHR/OMOP/CDR, and prepare the platform for EHDS and global regulatory compliance.
- Integrate AI capabilities such as automated data mapping, semantic normalization, and real-time inference.
- Balance fast-paced AI experimentation with enterprise-grade reliability and compliance.
- Partner closely with Product leadership to align technical decisions with market priorities.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences and standards bodies (e.g., HL7, IHE).
- Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring high quality and rapid delivery.
- Champion best practices in data security, privacy, and global regulatory compliance.
- Stay ahead of emerging healthcare standards and technologies, including ML/AI, FHIR, HL7, DICOM, and SNOMED.
- Drive continuous innovation that advances the platform’s global leadership.
About you
- Proven CTO or senior technology leadership experience within a Healthcare SaaS or platform organization.
- Deep healthcare data expertise, including XDS/XCA, FHIR (v4+), CDR/openEHR/OMOP, and multi-modal clinical data domains.
- Regulatory and compliance insight, with a track record of delivering globally compliant health platforms (EHDS experience is a plus).
- Cloud-native engineering mastery, including Kubernetes, Docker, AWS/GCP/Azure, and modern observability tools.
- Strong strategic judgment, especially around build vs. partner vs. buy decisions.
- Inspirational leadership, with the ability to mentor teams, drive alignment, and represent the organization externally with credibility and clarity.
