We are seeking a hands-on, product-centric CTO to own the technology strategy, architecture, and execution of our multi-tenant, multi-cloud SaaS platform. This is a foundational role for a leader who has built or scaled B2B SaaS / AI platforms and is excited to define and lead the Software Intelligence category.
Reporting & Leadership
The CTO reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and is a collaborative member of the senior leadership team, working closely with the Chief AI Architect, Chief Commercial Officer, and other executives.
Role Overview
The CTO is LightStrike’s senior technology executive, responsible for:
● Defining and executing the technology vision and roadmap across cloud environments.
● Owning the architecture and engineering of the core intelligence platform and the technical foundations that enable the AI and product roadmap.
● Building and leading a high-performing engineering organization.
● Ensuring the platform is secure, scalable, reliable, and compliant for enterprise customers.
● Aligning technology strategy with company strategy and go-to-market priorities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technology Strategy & Platform Architecture
● Own the technical vision, platform architecture, and long-term technology roadmap for LightStrike’s Software Intelligence platform.
● Design and evolve a cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS architecture that operates across major public clouds, ensuring portability, resilience, cost-efficiency, and data governance.
● Make pragmatic build/buy/partner decisions across infrastructure, data, AI, and integration components.
2. Core Intelligence & AI Decisioning
● Lead the engineering execution of the core intelligence platform—in close partnership with the Chief AI Architect—to ingest and analyze complex application estates and establish a reliable technical source of truth.
● Ensure the platform provides the data, services, and runtime foundations required for the AI‑powered decision engine and product capabilities defined by the product strategy and market-driven demand.
● Translate the AI and product vision into concrete technical requirements, architectural decisions, and delivery plans for the engineering teams you lead.
● Ensure the platform can effectively support large, complex customer portfolios and power both technical workflows and executive‑level decision-making.
3. Continuous Governance & Product Enablement
● Architect and evolve integrations with source control, CI/CD, and delivery workflows to enable continuous, safe change.
● Oversee capabilities that help customers reduce incidents, contain security risks, reduce cost-to-serve, and maintain continuous compliance.
● Work closely with the Chief Commercial Officer to align the technology roadmap with the product roadmap and ensure architectural readiness for market-driven new features.
4. Engineering Leadership & Collaboration
● Build, mentor, and lead a high-caliber engineering organization (application, platform, and infrastructure).
● Foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous learning.
● Act as a strategic partner to the CEO, Chief AI Architect, CCO, and other executives, translating technology into clear business outcomes and supporting strategic customer engagements.
Required Skills & Experience
● Leadership & SaaS / Cloud: Proven CTO/VP Engineering experience owning and scaling a multi-tenant, multi-cloud B2B SaaS platform (ideally in developer tooling, security, or AI).
● Architecture & Systems: Strong background in distributed systems and designing platforms that analyze large, complex application portfolios.
● AI & Data: Experience with AI/ML or data-driven decision systems, particularly in converting technical input into prioritized recommendations.
● Communication & Business Acumen: Excellent communication skills with C-level executives and commercial leaders; strong understanding of how technology impacts revenue, cost, and risk for enterprise customers.
