Department: Everything

🧾 Role Summary

As Chief Operating Parent, you are responsible for running day-to-day operations of a dynamic, emotionally intense, 24/7 environment. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team (children) through development, crisis resolution, learning, and moral growth. You will be the glue, the engine, and the entire board of directors — with a side of snack logistics.

📌 Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain systems for hygiene, sleep, education, nutrition, and conflict resolution
  • Schedule, coordinate, and execute multiple overlapping activities with zero buffer time
  • Mediate interpersonal conflicts with compassion and diplomacy
  • Adapt rapidly to unexpected changes in mood, energy, or snack inventory
  • Model resilience, communication, problem-solving, and growth mindset
  • Maintain documentation (school forms, medical records, birthday calendars, etc.)
  • Ensure safety protocols are in place for toys, stairs, emotions, and mental health
  • Serve as primary liaison with external partners (teachers, caregivers, medical staff)

Qualifications
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and multitasking
  • Emotional regulation under pressure (tantrums, sleepless nights, school email threads)
  • Experience in negotiation, de-escalation, and empathetic leadership
  • Budgeting skills (money, time, energy)
  • Strong communication and storytelling abilities
  • Decision-making with little to no information
  • No formal education required — lived experience is everything

Workload & Schedule
  • Full-time, open-ended
  • 24/7 on-call
  • No weekends off (unless you negotiate well)

💡 Bonus Skills (Optional but Appreciated)
  • Ability to recite favorite books from memory
  • Emergency diaper bag logistics
  • Advanced snack-for-peace strategy
  • Mastery in improvisation and bedtime negotiation
  • Capacity to give simultaneous hugs, answers, and directions
