Thruhike (thruhike.io) is building the future of local marketplaces — curated, connected, and powered by people. As Chief of Staff, you’ll be at the heart of it, working alongside the CEO and leadership team to turn vision into reality. From high-end lifestyle curation and stakeholder outreach to AI-driven operations, this role blends strategic thinking, hands-on execution, and storytelling.
As Chief of Staff, you’ll work directly alongside the CEO and leadership team to help make this vision real, day by day. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role that touches everything from creative outreach and curation ops to AI-powered tools and internal strategy.
You’ll be pitching ideas and product, forging relationships with curators and partners, and using AI and smart systems to make our marketplace and operations hum. You’ll turn early-stage ideas into executed projects and help shape how we scale — all while learning side-by-side with a senior startup team.
This role is perfect for someone early in their career (but ready to step up), who wants to blend creativity with execution and be part of building something from the ground up.
What You’ll Do
- Be a strategic right hand to the CEO — helping connect vision to action across the company.
- Drive special projects that touch curation, outreach, product, partnerships, and marketing.
- Lead thoughtful outreach to potential curators, local partners, and community voices — and help pitch our product and platform.
- Build and refine curation ops: organize, track, and streamline how we source, vet, and publish favorites across categories and regions.
- Leverage AI tools and workflows to scale outreach, surface insights, and make our curation smarter and faster.
- Own internal systems and processes — from meeting rhythms to KPI dashboards — to keep us aligned and moving fast.
- Help shape and nurture Thruhike’s culture as we grow: thoughtful, scrappy, community-first.
What You Bring
- 3-5 years (or equivalent drive) in operations, partnerships, and/or creative and experience or interest in fast-moving startup environments.
- Strong communicator — confident pitching, building relationships, and writing clearly.
- Creative thinker who loves turning early ideas into clear, actionable plans.
- Curious and analytical — excited about AI, data, and smart systems that scale human creativity.
- Entrepreneurial and adaptable — thrives in fast-paced, high-ownership environments.
- Deep interest in local commerce, curated marketplaces, and community-driven products.
Compensation & Benefits
- Type: Contract (with path to full-time as the company grows)
- Location: Fully remote, quarterly in-person off-sites in New York or Boston
- Pay: Dependent on experience, keep in mind this is an early stage startup and contract role
