I’m supporting a confidential search for a Chief Executive Officer to lead a Québec-focused gold development company advancing toward a restart of production.
The business has established a clear development pathway, underpinned by existing processing infrastructure and a growing resource base. It is currently positioned at approximately C$60M market cap, with the opportunity to build and scale through a combination of production restart and resource growth.
Importantly, the company has entered into a term sheet with a global commodities group for a prepayment facility and gold offtake agreement. This provides non-dilutive financing support and a clear framework to advance the planned restart of operations.
The mandate is to appoint a Chief Executive Officer capable of leading this next phase of development.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the transition toward restart of production and ongoing development activities
- Oversee financing strategy and execution, working closely with capital markets participants
- Provide leadership across technical, operational and corporate functions
- Support growth of the asset base and broader strategic initiatives
Candidate profile
- Experience advancing mining projects through development stages, ideally including restart or brownfield scenarios
- Strong capital markets capability, with a track record of raising capital and engaging investors
- Sufficient technical understanding to lead and challenge internal teams effectively
- Commercially minded, with the ability to operate in an entrepreneurial environment
Location
Regular presence in Québec will be required. Base location is flexible within Canada for the right individual.

The package includes a competitive base salary, meaningful equity participation and direct alignment to value creation as the business advances.
