Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Business Intelligence Analyst. The analyst will own the full analytics pipeline from structured big data tables to production dashboards. You'll build DBT models that transform data into analytics-ready tables, write optimized SQL for complex business logic, and design Sigma dashboards that teams want to use. This role requires equal expertise in data engineering and visualization & design, plus the ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
Why this Role Matters
We're building analytics infrastructure that enables our consulting team to deliver faster, more consistent insights to clients. This role creates the foundation: clean data pipelines, performant queries, and self-service dashboards that scale across engagements. You'll build systems that multiply the impact of our entire organization, turning complex data into tools that teams can use confidently and independently.
Responsibilities
- Design production Sigma dashboards that balance analytical depth with ease of use, implementing best practices for performance and scalability
- Write complex, performant SQL for data transformations, business logic, and custom dashboard queries optimized for large datasets
- Build and maintain DBT pipelines that transform data into analytics-ready models with proper testing, documentation, and version control
- Own the end-to-end data flow from source through transformation layers to final visualizations
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, communicating status clearly and prioritizing based on business impact
- Collaborate with consulting teams to understand requirements, gather feedback, and iterate on solutions
- Structure data models that support current needs while remaining flexible for future use cases
- Optimize query performance across the stack from DBT materializations to dashboard-level SQL
Qualifications & Technical Requirements
- Sigma Computing expertise: Deep understanding of not just what features exist, but when and how to use them—including workbook architecture, controls and custom SQL implementation
- Strong SQL skills: Complex joins, window functions, CTEs, query optimization for billion-row tables etc.
- DBT proficiency: Building models, managing dependencies, testing, documentation, deployment workflows
- Data modeling: Ability to design tables/views that serve multiple analytical use cases efficiently
- Project management: Handle 3-5 concurrent projects with clear prioritization and communication
- Collaboration skills: Translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and gather requirements effectively
What Success Looks Like
