The position title is Manager, Global Business Development


This position reports to the Head of Search & Evaluation, Business Development & Licensing, General Medicine - Operations


Candidates must be based in a major cities in the UK, Germany, Spain or Italy to ensure effective access to key business networks and convenient travel connections


EXPECTED TRAVEL: Up to 25%


CONTEXT

  • Support and drive deal making across mature brands and innovative assets prior to launch across mature and emerging markets
  • Support and drive divestment/out-licensing activities ranging from deal scoping, market analysis, deal structuring, cross-functional due-diligence project management to contract negotiations for global and regional opportunities
  • Manage due-diligence, data room set-ups and partner interaction with a good understanding of regulatory, supply chain, finance, commercial and other functions


MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Generates new business opportunities by leveraging existing and new networks to create leads
  • Participates in the development of short, mid and long term portfolio strategies, based on detailed market analysis and insights from relationships
  • Assumes or shares responsibility for an efficient planning and successful implementation of all relevant process steps throughout the execution of projects, based on a close alignment of relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Drives asset scoping, financial analysis, market research, and deal structuring in a creative manner with intent to create a viable deal
  • Conceptualizes, coordinates and leads the cross-functional due-diligence process
  • Supports/leads interactions and negotiations with partner companies


JOB REQUIREMENTS


  • Education: (mandatory) Bachelor’s degree in Science/Business. (preferred) Master’s degree, possibly an MBA
  • Years of experience: Prefer deal making experience in healthcare space. Commercial and marketing responsibilities in biopharmaceutical space can be considered. Experience of 5-7 yrs sought
  • Qualification and skills: ln-depth understanding and knowledge of pharmaceutical markets, Excellent financial acumen, Excellent presentation skills, Advanced negotiation skills, Project management tenacity, Recognized as expert by peers, co-workers and leaders (inside and outside the company)
  • Language skills and level of proficiency: Fluent English is a must. Additional European languages at business proficiency level incl. German, Italian or Spanish are desirable
  • Attitude: The candidate should be driven to perform and should have high flexibility, desire to take initiative, ability to organise self and work, analytical skills, attention to detail, aptitude to work under pressure, collegiality, capability to communicate effectively, self-confidence and ability to self-assess, charismatic personality and presence
