Business Development Manager - Supermarket and Retail


Gerflor has a high quality and innovative product range for retail applications. In close cooperation with the Swedish sales management and the regional sales teams, the BDM Supermarket & Retail establishes, develops and manages the sales success in the Food and Non-Food Retail sector in Sweden.


Your role

  • Manage sales and drive business development in the Food and Non-Food Retail Sector – with a primary market focus on centrally managed retail chains but also individual shop owners
  • Identify and develop customers (end-users, architects and outfitters), win projects and achieve Preferred Supplier status
  • Develop a solid business network with relevant industry bodies and key stakeholders in the sector
  • Cooperate closely with the Swedish Sales Management, Area Sales Managers and Segment Management in France (HQ)
  • Conduct market research activities and report market trends / requirements to the Segment Management and R&D
  • Contribute to the brand awareness of Gerflor in the Retail sector
  • Attend to relevant trade shows and exhibitions


Our requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years in sales of building materials / design products to the Swedish Supermarket / Retail sector
  • Proven experience in business development and entrepreneurial mind-set
  • Proactive sales approach (hunter) and strong sales track record
  • Good networking skills and the ability to develop long-term oriented business relations
  • Structured working approach, able to handle complex decision-making structures and long project life-cycles
  • Good knowledge of MS Office 365 and CRM-Systems
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Business fluent in Swedish and good command of English (speaking and writing)
  • Willingness to travel in Sweden (approx. 2 hotel nights per week)
