Role Purpose
The Business Development Manager – Europe is responsible for driving market adoption and revenue growth of FORTA’s asphalt fiber reinforcement technologies across European markets. This role focuses on strategic business development, specification influence, partner engagement, and direct sales.
The position serves as a technical-commercial bridge between owners, engineers, contractors, distributors, and internal teams to position FORTA as a performance-based solution for asphalt applications.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development & Strategy
- Execute a European market growth strategy for FORTA, aligned with global objectives.
- Identify and prioritize target countries, market segments, and applications (e.g., highways, ports, airports, intermodals, industrial pavements).
- Monitor market trends, competitor technologies, and specification changes across Europe.
Specification & Influencer Engagement
- Drive inclusion of FORTA solutions into national, regional, and project-level specifications.
- Build relationships and support direct sales with:
- Road authorities and infrastructure owners
- Consulting engineers and research institutions
- Industry associations and technical committees
- Support performance-based positioning using fatigue, durability, and lifecycle cost arguments.
Partner & Channel Development
- Support and grow distribution and contractor relationships across Europe.
- Identify and onboard new strategic partners where needed.
- Provide technical and commercial support to partners to ensure successful project execution and repeat adoption.
Technical & Project Support
- Support pilot projects, trials, and demonstration sections in collaboration with engineering and technical teams.
- Assist with mix design discussions, dosage guidance, and constructability considerations.
- Participate in project reviews and performance follow-ups to build field credibility.
Commercial & Revenue Responsibility
- Deliver regional revenue growth and market penetration targets.
- Develop forecasts, opportunity pipelines, and market reports.
- Support pricing strategy consistent with value-based positioning.
Internal Collaboration
- Coordinate with global asphalt, R&D, and marketing teams to:
- Share market feedback
- Support product development and positioning
- Align messaging across regions
- Contribute to technical papers, conference presentations, and industry events.
Key Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Experience in asphalt materials, pavement engineering, or infrastructure solutions
- Proven experience in business development, technical sales, or market development across Europe
- Strong understanding of:
- Asphalt mix design and performance concepts
- Pavement distress mechanisms (fatigue, rutting, cracking)
- European standards (EN, CEN, national specs preferred)
- Experience working with road authorities, consultants, and contractors
- Willingness to travel extensively across Europe
- Fluent in English; additional European languages strongly preferred
