Location

Initial placement in the Sacred Valley, Cusco (Peru), for extended onboarding and training.

Subsequent location based in the consultant’s country of residence.

Appointment

One-year initial appointment, with the intention to renew and progress to a permanent role,

THE POSITION

The Business Analyst operates as a strategic business consultant within a multidisciplinary team, working on global assignments across a wide range of clients and disciplines. You should expect to get involved in natural resource projects from developing sustainable farming practices in East Asia, to devising a regional tourism strategy in Latin America or scoping a renewable power investment project in West Africa. While specific sector-expertise is useful, we are looking for an inquisitive and strategic thinker who can operate across sectors.


Ergo seeks to retain and promote high performers: a strong performance as Business Analyst and increasing accumulation of experience will open the door to a Consultant role in the firm. 


Specific responsibilities include:

› Reporting to a Consultant, the role operates as a strategic analyst within projects, leading specific

components. Depending on clients’ needs and challenges, projects can vary in location and length, often lasting from two weeks to six months.

› You will be engaged throughout the life cycle of projects. Your tasks within these projects will include scoping, data collection and research, quantitative and qualitative analysis, report production, and reporting on assignments for a variety of leading global customers.

› You will contribute to the production of analyses that are clear, concise, and compelling. We principally produce reports in PowerPoint. As such, expertise with PowerPoint and ability and disposition to quickly expand your technical capabilities is vital to the role.

› The opening offers an opportunity to join a unique team of highly motivated and creative professionals. As a BA, you will participate and contribute to technical discussions to advance team thinking and knowledge around specific subjects.

› You will increasingly develop relationships with technical specialists, project associates, and/or client

team members. Ergo has an exciting portfolio of projects and customers across five continents, spanning some of the largest global corporations, the main global multilateral agencies, as well as governments. 


THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE

› A problem-solver, comfortable operating across theoretical thinking and practical project

implementation.

› A strategic thinker who can articulate concepts with clarity and translate them into practical deliverables.

› In possession of excellent writing skills that allow you to produce writing material that is clear, concise, and compelling.

› Highly numerically literate and capable of navigating their way through numbers and spreadsheets.

› Motivated to pursue and acquire new knowledge and skills. Ability to work both independently and in

teams is essential to the position.

› Genuinely excited about working on international projects with clients and governments across the world. You welcome the opportunity for travel off the beaten track.


RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

› Master’s degree in economics, development, business, engineering, international relations, or other

relevant disciplines.

› Professional experience in consulting and/or project management.

› Previous exposure to the natural resources sector is useful – i.e., agriculture, energy, mining, environment, etc.

› Ergo operates in English but produces work across multiple languages. Multilingual skills are an advantage.
