Role Summary
Government Of New Brunswick is seeking an experienced Business Analyst – Data Engineer to support the Provincial Clinical Information Solution Program. The successful candidate will support Business Intelligence and data engineering initiatives related to the standardization and implementation of a unified provincial Clinical Information Solution.
The Business Analyst – Data Engineer will work with clinical, operational, technical, and business stakeholders to help plan, design, build, document, and support a shared analytics and data environment. The role will focus on data platform planning, data modelling, data pipelines, business intelligence enablement, data governance, privacy and security controls, and data quality practices.

Mandatory Requirements
M1 – Education and Professional Background
The candidate must have a university degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience.

  • Support data engineering, business intelligence, and analytics activities in a healthcare technology environment.
  • Understand technical, business, clinical, and information management requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business and reporting needs into technical data solutions.

  • Support responsible management of healthcare data within a structured enterprise environment.
M2 – Progressive IM/IT, Data Engineering, and BI Experience
The candidate must have a minimum of ten years of progressive IM/IT experience, including significant hands-on responsibility as a data engineer or business intelligence developer in a cloud-based environment, supporting enterprise reporting or analytics solutions.

  • Designing, developing, and supporting data engineering and BI solutions in a cloud-based environment.
  • Planning and creating a data environment, including infrastructure, tools, access controls, and security protections.
  • Supporting enterprise reporting and analytics solutions for clinical, operational, and administrative decision-making.
  • Building and optimizing data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
  • Supporting code optimization, peer review, environment maintenance, monitoring, and operational support.
  • Providing estimates and executing technical work required for data environment implementation.
  • Ensuring the data environment is ready to support BI outputs for different decision-making levels.
M3 – Healthcare Data Experience
The candidate must have 7+ years of demonstrated experience working with healthcare data, including hospital and/or community data, at a multi-facility or enterprise level.
